Worship Workshop for 1st and 2nd graders and their parents
February 28, March 7, and March 14
9:15 to 10:15am

In this 3-session workshop, led by Rosanna and Meg Morrison, children and parents learn together about the sacraments of Baptism and Communion, how our worship service is organized, the special place where we worship, and how we praise God through song. Activities will be hands-on and child-friendly. On March 14, the church will give the children who participated in the workshop their own Hymnal at the 10:30 am worship service.

Children's Ministries celebrates the many little ones flocking to the chancel for the Word with Children each Sunday, and the successful start of our Fall Church School program on September 13. All the Bradley Hills Educators for this year were commissioned during the 10:30 service on September 20. We are grateful to God for these friends, who are fulfilling our baptismal promise to raise our children "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

As 2010 gets underway, we continue to educate and nurture many children each Sunday. We're happy to see their smiling faces in all of our classes as they help us to build a thriving children's ministry. Of special interest this month and next is the annual presentation of Bibles to our third-graders. This important milestone for young disciples will take place on Sunday, February 21, during the 10:30 a.m. service; these children and their families will receive a special invitation. At the same time, the third-, fourth- and fifth-grade class is enjoying the opportunity to learn the words of Psalm 23 by heart. Our pastors are encouraging the children in this endeavor, as they give themselves the gift of these cherished verses from Scripture. When each child is ready, he or she will recite (or read) the psalm to one of the pastors, and receive a special bookmark as a reminder of the occasion.

Thank you for continuing to support the spiritual growth of Bradley Hills' children through your gifts of time, interest, friendship, and prayer.

Pick up an Education brochure from the new display in the narthex, and we look forward to seeing you and your children each Sunday.

Concurrent with the 10:30 Service of Worship -
Childcare is available for children birth through age 2.

Engaging, child-friendly opportunities to participate in and learn about the Christian faith are in place for kids from age 3 to grade 5 during the 10:30 worship service. All children begin worship with their families in the Sanctuary, and proceed to Church School after the Word with Children. Children ages 3-5 meet together, as do kindergarteners to 2nd graders, and 3rd to 5th graders. On the first Sunday of each month, kindergarteners through 5th graders remain in worship to share communion with their church family.

The Children’s Choir meets in the choir room on Sundays from 11:40 to 12:10 a.m., after the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The children’s music program is designed to teach hymns and religious songs, which reinforce sound theology through music. Children periodically sing what they have learned during the 10:30 a.m. service. Please contact Kyle Babin, Acting Director of Music, if your children are interested in this group.
