Yoga Classes
Linda McReynolds of Bradley Hills will offer a yoga class on Saturday, September 11, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Gathering Space.  Please bring a mat, strap, block and blankets if you have them.  The focus will be using yoga postures to create a quiet spaciousness around the heart.  This class is offered as a fundraiser for disaster relief efforts in Pakistan.  If you wish to donate, please make checks to Bradley Hills and write "Pakistan" in the memo line. Art Exhibit
The fall season will open with a new art exhibit of paintings in the Lounge by Carol Fleisher Kent and Sue Moses.  Both artists have been exhibited in juried shows in local galleries such as Strathmore Hall, Glenview Mansion, the Kentlands Mansion, and Brookside Gardens and have won numerous awards.  Twenty percent of sales will be donated to Bradley Hills.  For more information, or to purchase paintings, please contact Barbara DeLouise, 301-530-3479.

Welcome Back Sunday
Sunday, September 12 starting at 9:15 AM. (This is the first Sunday of two services.) We will be celebrating in Memorial Hall with frittatas, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee through 10:15 that morning. A free will offering of $10 for adults and $5 for children is requested.

BHPC Book Group
The book group will meet on Sunday, Sept 19 at 4 pm at the home of Cathy Johnson. We will be discussing The Seven Women Project by Karen McCullough and Meredith McCullough.

Men's Fellowship
Join us for Men’s Fellowship discussion “What I Did on My Summer Vacation” with Oktoberfest Theme on Thursday September 30 from 6:30-8:00 in the Lounge.

Flu Clinic
A Flu Clinic will be held at Bradley Hills on Sunday, October 17 from 9 am – 12:30 pm. The content of the vaccine varies from year to year. The 2010-2011 vaccine provides protection against A/H1N1 (pandemic) influenza and two other influenza viruses – influenza A/H3N2 and influenza B. It will not prevent illness caused by other viruses. Pneumonia vaccine will also be available. More information will be available next month but this event is open to the public.

Joint Thanksgiving Service
The Interfaith Partnership is sponsoring the annual Thanksgiving Service, which is set for Sunday, November 14, 2010. This is one week earlier than in the past. The religious leaders of the three Congregations will decide on a sermon/dialog topic to be part of the service. There will be topics or questions for discussion by members of the Congregations at the tables during the lunch.

 

Regularly Scheduled Events:

Bible Study (No summer sessions - resumes after Labor Day)
Meets every Wednesday of every month from 10:000-11:00am. This discussion group is led by one of the pastors and focuses on the biblical texts to be used in the upcoming worship services.

Choir Practice (resumes after Labor Day)
Chancel Choir meets Thursday evenings from 8:00-9:30pm weekly. All singers are welcome. Handbell choir meets on Thursdays from 6:30 - 7:45 PM weekly.

Lay Ministry Meetings
These working groups of the church meet monthly on the 1st Tuesday at 7:30 P.M.

Youth Fellowship
(BRADLEY HILLS YOUTH CONNECTION)
All youth from grades 6 through grade 12 meet from 5:00pm-6:30pm Sunday evenings for a variety of activities. There is also church school for Middlers and Senior Highs at 9:15am on Sunday mornings.

Retreats
Annual retreats are held for men, women and families. Youth retreats are organized through the fellowship or confirmation groups

Intergenerational Work Camp
A mission trip for youth and adults is held yearly in the summer.

Grief Support Group - "Good Grief"
A grief support group is scheduled once or twice a year and is facilitated by a pastoral care counselor and the parish nurse.

Small Groups Ministry
Small groups meet for spiritual sharing and other purposes.
