Bradley Hills is blessed with an active and talented staff that supports the many programs and activities of the Church. Our staff functions with a strong emphasis on teamwork, seeing its role as empowering the lay members of the congregation - i.e., supporting ministry while also calling forth and encouraging the gifts of individual members in planning and implementing programs.

Rev. Dr. David E. Gray, Pastor/Head of Staff

Dr. Gray serves as Pastor and Head of Staff at Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church. He served previously at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, National Presbyterian Church and American University. He grew up active in the PCUSA from birth in Dayton, Ohio, loves music, movies and sports and feels the spirit alive at BHPC. David has been active in Presbytery and Reformed Institute young adult, educational and campus ministry activities, directs the Workforce and Family Program at the New America Foundation, is a board member of the Journal of Interreligious Dialogue and is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. A former U.S. Acting Assistant Secretary of Labor, David managed a fifty-four person office, staffed a number of White House working groups and represented the U.S. abroad in negotiations in Chile and in Mexico. He has served as a Counsel to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Government Management and as an aid to several members of Congress. David's writings have appeared in publications such as the Baltimore Sun, Washington Times, USAToday, Christian Science Monitor and Washingtonpost.com, and he has been interviewed widely by the foreign and domestic press. David received a Bachelors degree in history from Yale, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard, a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, a Master of Divinity with honors from Wesley Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry in church leadership also from Wesley. David is grateful for the opportunity to serve, worship, be in fellowship with and to grow spiritually with so many spiritual friends at Bradley Hills. David's wife, Bridget, founded Wiggle Room, a consignment shop in Bethesda, and with their two boys, Andrew and Brendan, and dog, Callie, the Grays are proud to be part of the BHPC family.

Rev. Dr. E. Scott Winnette, Associate Pastor

The Rev. Dr. E. Scott Winnette has served the Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church as Associate Pastor since 1998. His primary responsibilities are to staff the mission and outreach agencies of the church, to organize Youth and Young Adult community, to assist the Senior Pastor in pastoral care, worship leadership and preaching. Mr. Winnette graduated from the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary with a Master of Divinity after a short career in computer programming and two years as a Mission Volunteer of the PC(USA). He completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from the McCormick Theological Seminary of Chicago in preaching in 2007.

A native of Texas, Kyle Babin is Director of Music at Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, Maryland, a position he assumed in August of 2008.  Dr. Babin holds a Bachelor of Music degree (summa cum laude) from the Shepherd School of Music of Rice University, a Master of Music degree from the Yale University School of Music, a certificate from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Manhattan School of Music.  His organ teachers have included Clyde Holloway, Martin Jean, and McNeil Robinson.  He has also studied improvisation with William Porter.  While at Yale, Dr. Babin was the recipient of the Charles Ives Prize in Organ and, consequently, performed a recital at historic Center Church On-the-Green, New Haven, Connecticut, where Charles Ives was organist.  Dr. Babin was also awarded the Richard Paul DeLong Prize in Church Music by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and the Bronson Ragan Award by Manhattan School of Music.  He has served as organist at churches in Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, and acted as accompanist for the renowned children’s choir Chorus Angelicus, based in northwestern Connecticut and directed by Paul Halley.  In the summer of 2004, he accompanied Chorus Angelicus on a tour of western Ireland.  Dr. Babin has played recitals in numerous locations in both the southern and northeastern United States, including such notable New York City venues as the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, The Brick Presbyterian Church, and Park Avenue Christian Church.  Prior to moving to the Washington area, he served as Organist and Director of Music at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Manhasset, New York.  Dr. Babin now resides in Washington, DC.

Mimi Miller, Communications Coordinator

Mimi Miller began working as Communications Coordinator in 2005, responsible for creating publications, maintaining the web site and church database. Mimi has a deep relationship with Bradley Hills. Her husband was baptized and brought up in the church and they were married at BHPC in 1984. Their three children were baptized and confirmed here. Before joining the staff at BHPC she had a long career in the computer industry (including Exxon, Wang Laboratories and Microsoft Corporation) with positions in training, technical writing, national account sales and contract management. She is also a member of the Bradley Hills Bell Choir and Chancel Choir.

Amy deCourt, Manager of Financial Services

At Bradley Hills, Amy is responsible for the daily financial functions and long term financial planning of the church. Working closely with the staff, the Session, and the leaders of the church, she is responsible for matching the short and long range financial goals to available resources. She joined the BHPC staff as the Manager of Financial Services in 1996.

Since Amy’s parents were charter members of Bradley Hills, she grew up involved in life of Bradley Hills. After being baptized and raised here, Amy joined the church in 1972 and was and married at BHPC.

Prior to joining the staff, Amy earned her BS in Mathematics from Salem College in North Carolina and her BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University College. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Maryland with experience in financial consulting; specifically in accounting software development and implementation.

Farid Beltran, Manager of Facilities

Farid Beltran has been the Facilities Manager since 2007. He began working at Bradley Hills in September 1992 as a Sexton. Originally from El Salvador, Central America, Farid moved to Maryland in 1990. Prior to being hired at BHPC, he worked for a Jewish Temple for two years. Farid graduated from The Institute Emiliani of El Salvador in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics. During the past years he has taken computer programming courses at Strayer University and classes at Montgomery College. He is currently a member of The National Association of Church Facilities Managers (NACFM) and in the process of becoming a Certified Church Facilities Manager.

Debbie Frankiewicz, Office Manager

Debbie Frankiewicz has served as the Office Manager of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church since 2005. In addition to preparing the Sunday bulletin, Debbie manages the volunteer office staff, maintains the church calendar, and coordinates mailings. Prior to her work at Bradley Hills, she developed her organizational skills as a high school English teacher in her home state of Illinois and Montgomery County Public Schools.

Noelle Castin is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and has been active with the Presbyterian church since she was in junior high school.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in French, minor in Religion from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.  After graduation, she worked for two years as the Director of Youth Ministry for First Presbyterian Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Following her time in NM, she moved overseas and worked at the Armed Forces Recreation Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.  Upon her return to the United States, she worked at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars with the Fulbright Scholar Program and then was selected to be a DC Teaching Fellow.  As a DC Teaching Fellow, Noelle worked as an elementary school teacher for the District of Columbia Public School system for seven years and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from American University.

Noelle has also been actively involved with the Center for Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, North Carolina.  She served as a summer staff member, small group leader for a number of summers, back home group leader, conference support staff member, planning team member, and a co-director for the 2008 Omega summer youth conferences.

During her free time, Noelle loves spending time with her husband, Mark, and other family members and friends.  She is an avid reader and movie watcher, practices yoga, loves to bake, and enjoys traveling to new places. She begins at BHPC on July 1.

Rev. Tom Jones, Parish Associate

Rev. Dr. Thomas Jones is Ambassador at Large in the office of the CEO for Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) and serves on the Senior leadership Team for the world-wide ministry. He was the organizing pastor of Meadowview Presbyterian Church and senior pastor at Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, both in Louisville, Ky. He served congregations in Florida, including the bi-racial, bi-lingual New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Miami as the organizing pastor in 1965. From 1979-1991, Tom served as the Senior Pastor of Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC. In the academic world, Jones served Louisville Seminary as vice president, adjunct professor of church and ministry, and as a member of the faculty from 1977 to 1980. He is the author of When Leisure Is the Lord’s (CLC Press) and a speaker of national reputation, including appearances on television and radio, such as the Protestant Radio Hour preacher and NBC National Radio Pulpit preacher. Tom is married to Caroline Grandy, who joined BHPC on May 10, and is father to Lora, who was confirmed at BHPC on May 17. We look forward to Tom’s involvement in worship and with the life of our church.
