A unique relationship between the Bethesda Jewish Congregation and Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church.
We the members of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church and the Bethesda Jewish Congregation, form together this covenant to honor the Intimate and Infinite God of Creation, the One God we both worship. Taking to heart the biblical charge to be a light to the nations, we seek to offer a prophetic vision of interfaith partnership in a pluralistic world. Continuing a relationship begun in 1967 as spiritual siblings sharing sacred space, we commit ourselves to:

The Final Report of the Resource Audit Team provides wisdom and ncouragement for our strong spiritual community to become stronger.
The members of this Task Force
(Doug Adamson, Becky Wagner, Todd McCreight, James Scroggs, Jack Bennett, and
Steve Holmberg) are all committed members of Bradley Hills, most of who have recently
served in leadership positions on Session. They love the Bradley Hills community, and
have been faithful servants in building up our fellowship and strengthening both our
mission and our vision. And all of them bring seasoned expertise and experience from
their secular vocations that have enriched this planning process.

Presented to the 217th General Assembly
The following overture was passed by National Capital Presbytery on Tuesday, September 27, 2005. The overture originated with the Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church Session, based upon a joint statement approved by the Session and the Board of the Bethesda Jewish Congregation, our spiritual siblings who share sacred space with us. The intent of the overture is to reframe the divestment controversy by turning the conversation in a positive direction--providing impetuses for positive investment in Israeli and Palestinian communities.

Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church strives to make our congregation accessible to everyone.
The Accessibility Task Force (ATF) was established by the Session of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church (BHPC) to determine ways that BHPC might change to become more accessible to persons with disabilities.
|
In the Spring of 2004, the Session authorized a Task Force to explore, in consultation with the congregation, how we at Bradley Hills could be a more welcoming congregation to gay and lesbian believers.
One of our core values as a community of faith is hospitality (defined as "we welcome others and embrace our differences). The following report was adopted by Session in June of 2005, and all the recommendations were approved. The report includes biblical and theological exploration, medical and psychological understandings of homosexuality, an overview of other church responses to this issue, and a summary of the feelings and opinions solicited from the congregation. Most of all, this report describes the journey of the task force as they were led by the Holy Spirit to become more welcoming to all God's children.

The Visioning Task Force has issued its report to the Session.
From our dialogue with the congregation and its leadership, we sensed that there is nearly complete satisfaction with our core mission and values statements.
