June 4, 2005 -
I envision Bradley Hills to be a joyful community of spiritual friends that continues to nurture its flock to be the Image of God in a world so in need of peace and shalom. Bradley Hills will celebrate 50+ years of partnership with the Nursery School and Bethesda Jewish Congregation. It will be a sacred and holy refuge where all Christian denominations and all religions come together to worship God and nurture their Collective Image. Bradley Hills will be an ecumenical beacon of light unto the world.
Bradley Hills will be a People Israel who wrestled with God in coming to terms with evangelism and spirituality, enabling the flock to be a confident Image in the world, helping all people to connect with God. There will be a vital young peoples’ ministry that contributes significantly to the life of the congregation. The youth of 2005 will be the leaders of 2020. Bradley Hills will understand its life, programs, mission, music, education, services, and outreach to be aspects of the worship of God and the evangelizing for Christ. Bradley Hills will be exuding and overflowing with spirit and spirituality.
We will have stewarded our temple at 6601 Bradley Boulevard to be fully accessible, have ample parking for a continually growing flock, have our own safe sidewalks along Greentree Road leading to the sanctuary, and have a large and inviting entrance on Bradley Boulevard offering a full view of the church. We will be a neighborhood church with mid-week evening services and an outdoor labyrinth garden for the spiritually inclined local walkers and visitors. There will be a transportation ministry using a blue bus, The Bradley Hills Fellow Ship, to assist people in participating in the life of the congregation. The bus may even support a campus ministry.
Bradley Hills in 2020 will look back to the flock of 2005, forgiving us for our shortcomings and smiling at our faith and resolve. Soli Deo Gloria.
