June 4, 2005 - Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church will be known as “The Community Church” with a diversity of members and mission outreach. Evangelism classes will educate us on how to tell our story to the community. Our congregation and budget will double, giving us the resources to expand current programs and build new ones. We will make full use of newspapers, radio, cable TV and the internet to make us better known in the area. Diversity will be our theme. We will welcome all regardless of race or sexual orientation.
Programs will be in place for senior citizens. We will fill their needs including social, health support and volunteer opportunities. Transportation will be provided for those in need. Daily programs will be available.
Our Teen Club will have a large membership from all areas of our community regardless of religion. Retreats, tutoring, field trips, social programs and volunteer opportunities will be offered.
The activities will be housed in our Community Center provided by a capital campaign. A computer center will be available along with space for community groups like the Friends Club.
Religious Services will be convenient, handicapped accessible, modern, with different content to meet the needs of the different groups we serve. Our Saturday Evening Service will be available to those unable to attend on Sunday. Music will play a major role in our services with expanded choirs and a full-time instrumental group. Services will be broadcast on radio, cable TV and the internet.
Forty percent of our budget will go to mission. Our large pool of volunteers will be available to help those in need. An associate pastor will be called to oversee community outreach including the Teen Club and Senior Citizens program. Many other projects will be completed or planned:
• Mortgage will be paid;
• 50th Anniversary wish list completed;
• Assisted living complex built on our property including residence we purchase next to church;
• Partnership with BJC ongoing;
• Church School remodeled and expanded;
• Additional parking provided on site and nearby with buses available on Sunday;
• Staff hired and reorganized for increased programs.
We will be blessed as a congregation and will pass this on to the community and the people we serve.
