On this solstice, this shortest day of the year, this darkest night of the soul, we lift up a prayer to God for Christmas healing.
Loving God, we know that something deep, something mysterious, something healing happens when we choose to worship you in the midst of our feelings of loss, or pain, or despair. When we choose to open that door to your Spirit, God, you come into us. When we carve out a little space, you enter in. When we pause, when we let our feelings be what they are, when we have enough courage to face pain, we know God that you join us in our grief. Then you begin to heal us. Today we are making space to feel, to find you, our heavenly parent, feeling with us, and then to experience your healing presence. Amen.
