October 2023

October 1 | Our Strategic Vision
Three members of our Strategic Visioning Task Force, Kate Bushman Smith, Doug Anderson, and Linda McReynolds, will review the goals and recommended next steps for Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church over the next 5 years. They will explain the process that the church will take with respect to its implementation and answer questions about it.

October 8 | Bible Study with Pastor David
Pastor David Gray will lead an interactive study of a relevant text.

October 15 | With the Rise of Misinformation: What is Truth?
Bob Deans, longtime BHPC member, Director for Strategic Engagement in the Natural Resources Defense Council, and former President of the White House Correspondents Association, will address the question, “What is Truth?,” and lead a discussion about it.

October 22 | Artificial Intelligence: What Does it Mean to be Human? – The Impact on Creativity & Purpose
Lee Rainie, retiring Director of Internet Research for Pew Charitable Trust, and practicing Christian and Buddhist, has studied AI’s impact on society for many years. He will address how artificial intelligence impacts human purpose and creativity–both positively and negatively.

October 29 | The Elephant is Running
Dr. Bruce Epperly will discuss the key points from his book, The Elephant is Running. This book, which was selected for this year’s Fall Small Groups’ study, shows how we as a larger community can appreciate other faith traditions while maintaining Christian values.
