Alternative Giving
November 26, 2024December 1.
Join us as we start off this joyous season with both reflection and celebration. On December 1 there will be worship, a Labyrinth walk, a festive Christmas tree lighting, and quiet Advent devotions through centering prayer.
Worship with communion at 8:30 and 10:30 am. Message by Pastor Denise Diaab. The first section of Handel’s Messiah will be performed at 10:30 worship.
Labyrinth Walk: Between the services at 9:15 am, we will gather outside to walk the Bradley Hills’ Labyrinth together. We do this as an acknowledgement that Advent is the start of a journey toward the birth of Christ. This is a time of meditation and centering as we reflect on the meaning of the season. Pastor Denise will lead the walk and begin with a short welcome and instruction for first-timers, who are especially welcome. The Labryinth is located near the main entrance of the sanctuary.
Christmas Tree Lighting: Later in the evening on December 1, from 5:00-6:00 pm, we will hold a festive tree lighting ceremony. We will gather in the sanctuary inside for holiday songs and then go outside to welcome the Advent season with the lighting of a Christmas tree (and maybe a song or two). We then return inside for hot cocoa and fellowship. A fun event for families and children.
Advent Devotions: Centering Prayer. 7:30-8:00 pm. On Zoom. Centering Prayer is a spiritual practice where we surrender ourselves in silence in order to open our hearts to the transformative presence and action of God in our lives. All are welcome, and no previous experience is necessary. Pastor Denise will lead. The Zoom link can be found in the weekly emails. More information.
