Born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, Beth Beisel is a long-time resident of Chevy Chase in Washington, DC. Beth’s work has focused on publishing, internet services, marketing, and communications for local nonprofits.

After graduating with an English degree from Dickinson College, Beth worked in book publishing in London for three years. On her return, she became the managing editor of the environmental book publisher, Island Press.  She later worked as a developmental editor for the American Psychological Association’s  book publishing program. During the early years of the internet, she was recruited by the APA’s internet staff for her editorial skills and ended up managing its busy website, which received over 30,000 visitors a day.

More recently, she has focused on communications and marketing for small nonprofit organizations, including a local jazz program and a senior service organization dedicated to helping seniors remain at home as they age.

In her spare time, Beth enjoys yoga, jazz, tennis, cooking, and hiking.
