Our worship is engaging, with a blend of contemporary messages and fine traditional music recognized for its strength and quality.
Sunday Morning Schedule, Fall through Spring
Most weeks we hold two worship services:
- A traditional service with the choir in the Sanctuary at 10:30 am
- A shorter, more informal service without the choir in Covenant Hall at 8:30 am
Worship in Covenant Hall from 8:30-9:15 am
This worship service is shorter and less traditional than the 10:30 service. It is designed for all ages to worship together, ending with gathering around the communion table for the sharing of concerns and celebrations with prayer. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers.
Education for All from 9:15-10:15 am
Adult Education, Youth Church School, and Education Hour for children from birth through Grade 5 all run from 9:15 to 10:15 am. Childcare is provided for children under 5. For details, see Adult Education, Youth Ministry, or Children’s Ministry.
Worship in the Sanctuary from 10:30-11:30 am
This is a traditional service with music from the organ and the choir. All ages start worship together, with children age 3 through Grade 5 invited to Church School after the children’s message. Though the liturgical format, music, and prayers are more traditional than at the 8:30 am service, this service is very warm and inviting. Beautiful music is an important part of worship at Bradley Hills, and worship is often also enlivened by offerings of our drama troupe. Childcare is available for infants and toddlers.
Fellowship & Coffee Hour at 11:30 am
After worship year round we always have a lively gathering adjacent to the worship areas, with snacks for both children and adults.
Sunday Morning Schedule, Summer
Summer Service this summer at 10:30 am
In summers, we have one worship service in the Sanctuary. With the choir on vacation until fall, music is provided by soloists from the choir or congregational members. Our fellowship/coffee hour follows the service in summer, as in the rest of the year.
Nursery Care is provided year-round for children 2 years or younger. The 3- & 4- year-old class also continues to meet. Children in kindergarten through grade 2 will participate in multi-age Church School in June and July. This Church School takes a break in August.
More About Worship
Worship Involves All Ages
Both services are family friendly. Our 10:30 service has a lively Children’s Message before children ages 3 to grade 5 are invited to Church School. Children are welcome to stay with their parents during worship as well, and activity kits are provided for the younger ages. Youth lead worship several times a year, and children of all ages sing in choirs throughout the year. We involve adult members in worship as lay readers and in serving communion. Everyone is invited each week to share concerns and celebrations, from the pews at the 10:30 service and around the table at the 8:30 service.
Bradley Hills is a welcoming witness to God’s love, and all Christians are welcome to join in the Lord’s Supper. On Communion Sundays (typically the first of each month), children in grades 4 and 5 remain in worship to participate in communion. The pastors hold an annual class for parents of children taking Communion for the first time.
Baptisms for all ages are joyful occasions at Bradley Hills.d. Baptisms generally occur on the third Sunday of the month at the 10:30 service, but may be on other days when desired. For more information, see Baptisms.
Bradley Hills is a wonderful place to spend holidays, from Easter to Thanksgiving to Christmas. Learn more here.
Worship for Those Who Cannot Come to Church
Please see the front of our website for the link to our livestream as we livestream our weekly worship services. Our video ministry includes videos of recent sermons on our website for people unable to make it to worship. Sermons may be viewed both on the website and in DVD format for those without web access; they are also available in print in the church Narthex. To learn more, or to read, watch, or listen to our sermons, visit Sermons.
Our deacons also provide communion at members’ residences to individuals who wish to participate but cannot come to church.
