We are delighted to welcome back the Bradley Hills Adult Education Program this September. Our program year opens with a three-part series led by Dr. R. Bruce Douglass, Director Emeritus of the Reformed Institute of Metropolitan Washington, former Chair of the Department of Government at Georgetown University, and a close friend of Bradley Hills.
Reformed Political Thought in an Age of Catastrophe (1914-1945)
Between the world wars, the West endured profound upheaval: radical ideologies drew wide followings, democratic regimes faltered, wars assumed totalizing forms, and the global economy collapsed. Reformed Protestants continued to play influential roles in public life, yet were pressed to reconsider the assumptions they had inherited from earlier generations.
Dr. Douglass will guide us through this period in three sessions:
- September 7th: War
- September 14th: Radical Ideologies
- September 21st: Depression
Dr. Douglass will help us reflect on how our faith has addressed the challenges of the past, and what parallels we may see in our world today.
September 28 – Bradley Hills: The Church of the Future after Celebrating 70 Years
To close the month, David Gray will lead us in a forward-looking session. Together we will explore the possibilities and challenges that shape our future as a faith community, building on the foundation of our first 70 years.
