May 5, 2023JongSeok Kim moved to Bethesda, Maryland, in the summer of 2021 from Carmel, Indiana, where he lived for 6 years with his family. He moved in 2015 from Seoul, Korea, due to his job transfer at Eli Lilly. He was born in Seoul and grew up in a Baptist church community, but when he moved to Indiana, he joined the Korean Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis. He has attended worship in BHPC since 2021 and became a registered member in September 2022.
For the past 15 years, JongSeok has served as a physician scientist in the pharmaceutical industry and does clinical research for cancer drug development. Prior to this, he completed his medical school education and clinical training as a gynecologic oncologist and clinical pharmacologist in Korea. Currently, he is working remotely from home as a senior clinical director at Merck & Co. and has frequent business travels to Pennsylvania and the New Jersey area.
In his spare time outside of work, JongSeok enjoys hiking, biking, traveling, and camping with his wife and two children.
