Richard Webster has spent his life in creative pursuits. Trained in music at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, Richard pursued a career as a professional musician with the National Symphony Orchestra for 43 years. His other professional pursuits included teaching music appreciation and jazz history at Georgetown University and the Smithsonian Institution. He is a daily tennis player and a marathon runner. Since retirement from the NSO, he has become a juried wood artist, turning bowls and making furniture. He lives with his wife, Judy Ann, and their two pets, Jazz and Shadow, in Rockville, MD.
