This is a family-friendly mission event for all ages. Bring the family and build a bucket together!
After the worship service on Sunday February 25th, the BHPC congregation is invited to Memorial Hall to once again assemble clean up buckets, hygiene kits and school supply kits for distribution by Church World Service (CWS) to those in need. CWS was born in the devastating wake of WWII when seventeen Christian congregations came to together “to do in partnership what none of us could hope to do alone.” CWS continues to provide critical relief around the world but in the United States, a major component of their work involves providing “kits” to those facing disasters such as floods or hurricanes, or to those who lack the resources to get basic needs such as hygiene met. Recently, for example, CWS provided clean up, hygiene and school supply kits to residents of Pajaro, California after devasting floods occurred there and families were forced to evacuate and then return to their flooded homes. CWS also provided kits to 250 seniors that were forced to evacuate their retirement home after Hurricane Idalia hit their community. Working with community and faith-based partners like BHPC, CWS has provided 6,605 clean-up bucket kits, 108,390 Hygiene Kits and 45,570 School Kits – but the needs are still there. Come join your BHPC family on February 25th and live out the calling in Hebrews 13:16: “Do not forget to do good and help those in need.”
